A new electronics firm has this week launched its first downloadable application on the Internet.
Hue and Bern develop iPhone applications.
And to mark the launch of its first product, the owners are appealing to the public for ideas of other applications they would like to see on offer.
Ben Atkins, co-founder of Hue and Bern, said: “Basically, if someone comes up with an application idea, we’ll take on the cost, take the risk and do all the work.
“Then, when the application is ready to launch, we’ll ask for a negotiable percentage of any of the profits made from people downloading the application.”
Designer and co-founder Matthew Ellis explained the motivation behind getting members of the public involved with their business.
He said: “We just want to get some ideas generated and some interactivity. I don’t know many people in say, the Army or the medical services. They might have an idea for something useful within their industry that I could never think of.
“We have the design and technical know-how between us to make Joe Bloggs’s idea work and bring it out commercially.”
Their first application Time Quad launched yesterday and is now available for download from Apple’s application site.
Mr Atkins said:“Time Quad is basically a time management application based on those time quadrants that a lot of people draw on paper.
“I was drawing one and just started thinking how easy it would be if I had it on my phone.
“Unlike all the other time management applications, Time Quad lets you prioritise items in terms of importance, stopping you from getting a long, overwhelming list of things to do.”
